At the end of Year 6, children undertake the British National Curriculum end of Key Stage SATS. These are externally marked. Although we are a non-selective school, our children consistently score much higher than the UK average on all tests. This year, 83% of our children gained a Level 5 in English, 80% in Maths and 29% gained a Level 6 in Maths. This is nearly double the UK average.
From Reception up until Year 6, the children annually undertake standardised assessments in Literacy, Numeracy , Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning.
As part of their normal classroom practice, Writing, Reading and Maths are assessed at the end of every half term.
The children also sit a variety of other examinations depending on which schools they will attend. These include Nigerian Common Entrance, British ISEB Common Entrance and schools’ own assessments. We invigilate the ISEB Common Entrance Exams and entrance tests for schools such as Downe House and Wycombe Abbey, Kings College, Benedon and St. Mary’s.
