YEAR 6 PGL VISIT IN UK 2026

Sports Day

PGL – named after founder Peter Gordon Lawrence is an internationally recognised organiser of safe and rewarding activity breaks for young adults.
It was a safe and smooth journey from Lagos to Swindon. It was an early start to the day, but the children were full of excitement throughout — from the airport, to the flight, and all the way to our arrival at the PGL Centre. The trip has started wonderfully, with lots of enthusiasm and energy.

PGL Student Experience & Write-ups
Nimi P.
My experience on the first day of PGL was very interesting, because we had to get to school by 5:00, then leave for the airport by 5:15. At the airport, it took a bit of time to get past immigration and get on the plane, but in the end, we were able to travel to London. As we got out of the airport, we took a one and a half – hour bus ride to the PGL centre. As we got up the long flight of stairs, they told us our roommates, and we went to dinner. The food was surprisingly good, and I ate lasagna with potato wedges and a toffee muffin. We then did some tremendous activities, like frisbeeing and football, then went back to our rooms and went to bed. It was a whirlwind of activities.

Elias Experience
Today is what I would call an exciting and a nervous day. It started off with breakfast down at the cafeteria with four hash browns, one sausage and baked beans. After that, we headed out for our group activities for which we were split into four groups, and I was with Mrs. Otori. Our first nerve-racking activity was on the zipline; I was so scared I only did it once! After that it led onto a session of archery with one of the other groups. We had many different game modes and generally I did well. In the afternoon we leapt for the high trapeze. Our last group activity before dinner was on something called the Giant Swing in which I did not scream at all, but my partner Riamhe was screaming deafeningly in my ear so that’s the sum up of my day. After dinner, we went on a scavenger hunt and my team came second.

PGL was filled with learning, discovery, and encitement, Indeed St. Saviour’s is confident that experiences such as PGL equip and motivate our children to be confident, independent, and physical active young adults of tomorrow.
